PC99 Stage 3A order form
PC99 is a program that emulates the Texas Instruments TI-99/4A Home Computer. PC99 runs in
protected mode under DOS, or in a Windows 95 DOS box, on an IBM or compatible 386 (or higher)
PC. The emulation includes: the TMS9900 processor; the TMS9918A Video Display Processor (VDP);
the TMS9901 Programmable Systems Interface; and the TMS9919 sound chip in the 99/4A console.
Also emulated are: the TI RS-232 card and its TMS9902 Asynchronous Communications Controller;
the TI Disk Controller and its WD-1771 FDC chip; the TI p-Code card; and the TI Speech Synthesizer
and its TMS5200 Voice Speech Processor chip.
With PC99 you can run TI-99/4A Command Modules and disk-based programs with few limitations.
PC99 Stage 3A contains all features available in previous stages, and now includes:
Mini-Screen trace: Events, for example the last value of the program counter, can be saved in
a "trace stack" and recalled. The contents of any address, or register can also be traced.
Speech Synthesizer support: The TI Speech Synthesizer ROM is included. PC99 will execute
all speech functions, such as CALL SPGET and CALL SAY in TI Extended Basic, or OPEN
#1:"SPEECH" using Terminal Emulator II, and return the correct values. You can also run
modules, such as Early Reading, and games, like Lasso, that require the Speech Synthesizer.
However, no audible speech is produced.
CFG.EXE: You can specify an overlay file. This editable Ascii file can contain the text from the
plastic overlay strips used with the 99/4A console. This text can be displayed to the right of
the PC99 screen.
ART.EXE: Will display TI-Artist files in DOS. Can be used to create a "slide show".
DLCONV.EXE: Allows you to download files from a BBS with a TI FILES header and import
them into a .DSK file using DSKIN.EXE.
There are two products available:
Full: Includes PC99.EXE (standard version), PC99A.EXE (accelerated version), and a range
of utility programs.
Light: Includes PC99L.EXE (light version), and a range of utility programs.

Both PC99 products include:
Files representing: the TI-99/4A console ROMs and GROMs; TI Disk Controller ROM; TI
RS-232 ROM; p-Code ROMs and GROMs; Speech Synthesizer ROM; and Extended Basic,
Editor/Assembler, and Tombstone City modules. CaDD is licensed by Texas Instruments to
distribute this copyrighted material.
The full product configuration is the equivalent of: a TI-99/4A with Peripheral Expansion Box
containing 32K Memory Expansion; TI Disk Controller; TI RS-232 card; TI p-Code card; TI
Speech Synthesizer; together with TI Extended Basic, TI Editor/Assembler and Tombstone City
modules.
Extensive documentation on disk in WordPerfect 5.1 and Ascii format.
Utilities which will allow you to move your TI-99/4A Command Modules and disk library to
your PC. The utilities support the transfer of both text files and executable files (binary files).
You need a GRAM device, such as The Gramulator from CaDD, to convert Command Modules
to disk format.
Utilities which allow you to: configure PC99; catalog TI disk files from DOS; extract TI files
from TI "disks" and make them DOS files; take extracted TI files and convert them for use in
PC programs, such as WordPerfect.
The minimum recommended machine to run PC99 is a 486 66MHz.

PC99 Disk Conversion Service
Your PC99 documentation includes full instructions on how to convert your TI diskettes to PC99
format. If you no longer have access to a TI system, or simply don't want to spend the time to convert
your diskettes, you can request CaDD Electronics to do this for you.
To use the disk conversion service, you must:
Mail the TI diskettes you want converted to the address below. The TI diskettes should be in
good condition and be either single-sided, single-density (SSSD) or double-sided, single-density
(DSSD). If the disks are double-sided, double-density (DSDD), or the diskettes are flippies, see
below.
WARNING: We cannot guarantee to convert copy-protected diskettes.
You must supply sufficient PC diskettes for the converted files:
For every four TI SSSD or DSSD, or every two TI DSDD you want converted you must supply
one formatted 3.5" 1.44Mb (or 5.25" 1.2Mb) diskette. Your PC diskettes must be genuine high-
density diskettes. WARNING: Modified low-density diskettes cannot be accepted and will be
returned as is.
You should provide a list showing your TI disk name and the DOS filename that you want this
disk to be called. If no list is supplied, then CaDD will select the filenames.
Example:

Note: DOS filenames must adhere to the 8.3 convention. The PC99 convention for a DOS
filename extension is .DSK. Therefore, if your TI diskname is greater than 8 characters it
must be shortened.
You must supply a return address label, and sufficient postage for the return of the disks. The
disks will be returned in the package you provided.
PC99 disk conversion pricing
Pricing is based on a "unit" charge of $0.25. Units
For each SSSD or DSSD diskette: 1
For each SSSD or SSDD flippy: 4
For each DSDD diskette: 8
Example: You provide 2 SSSD, 3 SSSD flippies, 4 DSSD, and 5 DSDD diskettes.
The total number of units is:
(2 SSSD * 1) + (3 SSSD flippies * 4) + (4 DSSD * 1) + (5 DSDD * 8) = 58 units.
58 units at $0.25 a unit = $14.50
